United States Supreme Court decision, 320 U.S. 1, decided June 21, 1943. Ruling on a wartime patent infringement suit, the Court held the key claims of Guglielmo Marconi's 1904 tuning patent invalid as anticipated by earlier work, principally the patents of John Stone Stone, and, to a lesser extent, Oliver Lodge and Nikola Tesla. The decision came six months after Tesla's death.
